Betty Landry

November 27, 1934 — June 26, 2017

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Betty Ann Landry, 82, who passed away June 26, 2017. Father Keith LaBove, pastor of St. Patrick Church, will be the celebrant of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services. Tressie Barrett and Alyssa Credeur will be the lectors; gift bearers will be Emily Landry and Isabelle Romano-Landry. Interment will follow the mass in Calvary Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband Herman Landry of Lafayette; one son, Ricky (Suzanne) Landry of Lafayette; one daughter, Mona Landry of Decatur, GA; one sister, Beverly Thibodeaux of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Tressie Barrett, Lance Beal, Alyssa Credeur, D. J. Landry, Emily Landry, Jacob Landry, and Isabelle Romano-Landry; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Forrest Roberts and Tressie Ruth Roberts; and one brother, John Edward Roberts.

Betty was a native of Eldorado, AR and resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church and an active volunteer with handicapped Cursillo retreats. She enjoyed arts and crafts projects, and weekend excursions to go "antiquing".

Pallbearers will be Lance Beal, D.J. Landry, Jacob Landry, Isaac Zamora, Glenn Webb, and Ian Biggs.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 8:00 am until services. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am.

The family extends its special thanks to her "angels" Emily Armstead, Yolanda Martin, Tanya Noel, and all the girls who took special care of her.
