Allen Roberts

Catholic Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home Allen Paul Roberts, 71, who passed away August 30, 2017 at his residence in Branch, La. Deacon Kenneth Soignier will officiate the funeral services. Lectors will be Chrystal Thibodeaux and Amanda Tate. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will perform, "On Eagles Wings", "Amazing Grace", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "I Can Only Imagine", and "Go Rest High On That Mountain". Interment will follow services in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Survivors include wife, Ann Roberts of Branch; two daughters, Tanya Roberts (Scott) Talbot of Broussard, and Chrystal Roberts Thibodeaux of Scott; and six step-children, Connie (Britt) Byrne of Youngsville, Amanda (Jeffery) Tate of Branch, Kayla (Justin) Casanova of Denham Springs, Tricia (Danny) Reboul of Indian Bayou, Brian (Diane) Hotard of Madsonville, and David (Brandy) Hotard of Broussard; four grandchildren, Ashley Albert, Hannah Talbot, Seth Johnson, and Holden Johnson; and ten step-grandchildren, Cameron and Joshua Hotard, Drew Maturin, Micah Byrne, Logan and Connor Tate, and Brock, Carter, Emma, and Natalie Reboul.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Talbert and Ouita Roberts; one son, Steven Roberts, and one step-grandson, Joshua Hotard.

Allen was a native of Lafayette. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by Auto-Chlor for 30 years before retiring, and later worked for Avis Rent-A-Car.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Hotard, Drew Maturin, Scott Talbot, Seth Johnson, Holden Johnson, and Jeffery Tate. Honorary pallbearers include Logan Tate, Connor Tate, Ricky Smith, Cameron Hotard, Brock Reboul, Carter Reboul, and Micah Byrne.

The family requests that visitation be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 1:00-9:00 pm, and resume Saturday morning at 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be led by Sr. Doris Roy Friday evening at 6:00 pm.
