Denise Roberts

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church for Denise Collins Roberts, 75, who passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017.   Bishop Emeritus Michael Jarrell and Father Hampton Davis, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace, will con-celebrate the Mass.  Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation hours be observed on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Walters Funeral Home.

Survivors include one daughter, Gemma Roberts of Lafayette;  one son, John Rene Roberts of Lafayette;  two sisters, Jessie Roberts and her husband Russell of Lafayette, and Ruby Guillory and her husband Delton of Lafayette;  one brother, Joseph Collins and his wife Ann of Lake Charles;  three grandchildren, Drake Bernard, Ashley Roberts Fontenot, and Danielle Roberts;  and one great-grandson, Rylen Fontenot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roberts;  her parents, Mathilda and Theodore Collins, Sr.;  five brothers, Martel Collins, Jacob Collins, Theodore Collins, Jr., Placide Collins, and Jimmy Collins;  three sisters, Della Guillory, Eluia Deville, and Christine McDonald;  and one grandson, Jas Riley Roberts.

A native of Mallet, La., Denise has been a resident of Lafayette most of her life.

Pallbearers will be John Rene Roberts, Bobby Roberts, Kevin Roberts, John Thibeaux, Kevin Mouton, and Martel Herndon.  Honorary Pallbearers are Martel Collins, Jacob Collins, Theodore Collins, Jr., Joseph Collins, Placide Collins, Jimmy Collins, Drake Bernard, Jas Riley Roberts, Rylen Fontenot, and Martel Mouton.
