Catholic funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Alice Nettie Commagere, 96, who passed away June 13, 2015. Deacon Jay Bergeron will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her daughter, Allyson C. Trahan; four grandchildren, Taylor Commagere, Tarynn Trahan, Lori Kinchen, and Lisa Tastet; seven great-grandchildren, Harper Boudreaux, Austin Kinchen, Hunter Kinchen, Logan Kinchen, McKane Kinchen, Mason Hebert, and Cullen Hebert; and two great-great grandchildren, Hayden Hebert and Cecilia Kinchen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Grundmeyer; her former husband, Felix J. Commagere, Jr.; and her two children, Felix J. Commagere, III and Janice Commagere.
Alice was a native of Algiers, longtime resident of New Orleans, and resided in Lafayette for the past ten years. She was a fun loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing and singing. She danced well into her eighties. She will be remembered for her positive attitude and relishing in all that life had to offer.
The family requests that visitation be held Wednesday from noon until time of service.
