Anna M. Leger

Anna Reva Leger (Moreau), age 96, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025 in Carencro, Louisiana. Born on June 17, 1929 in Church Point, Louisiana, she lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in faith, family and service to others.

Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Martin Leger; her parents, Columbus and Ophelia LaVergne Moreau; her brother Levorel Moreau; and her sisters Rita Richard and Dorothy Thibodeaux. Her legacy continues through the many lives she touched with her kindness and devotion.

She leaves to honor her memory three sons: Larry J. Leger and his wife Veronica, Keith Leger and his companion Kathy, and Karl M. Leger and is wife Louisa. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Patrick M. Leger and his wife Chelsea, Alexander Leger and his wife Candice, Larry M. Leger, and Arty K. Leger and his wife Jaime. Her joy extended to five great-grandchildren: Eli Leger, Zoe Leger, Hazel Leger, Jack Leger and Finn Leger.

Anna also held close bonds with extended family members and friends, including nieces Pam Ohara and her husband Tom, and Laura Price and her husband Raymond; nephews Ricky Thibodeaux and his wife Sharon, Craig Thibodeaux and his wife Melinda, and Michael Thibodeaux; her cousin Mercedes Champagne and her husband Nolan; her sister-in-law Charlene Price; and her dear friends Barbara Ortego and her husband Dwain.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Anna was a devoted parishioner who found strength in prayer throughout her life. She was known for praying the rosary daily and reading scripture regularly – practices that grounded her spirit and inspired those around her.

Anna’s hands were rarely still- she found joy in sewing intricate pieces for loved ones, preparing home-cooked meals that brought people together around the table, baking treats that warmed hearts as much as they satisfied appetites and reading books that enriched her thoughtful mind. These passions were not just hobbies but expressions of love that she shared generously with family and friends.

Her warm smile could light up a room, and her generous nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Anna had a remarkable ability to put the needs of others before her own- a quiet strength that defined how she lived each day.

May Anna Reva Leger’s memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well-lived in faith, love and grace.
