Barbara Broussard

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 3:00 pm in Sts. Peter & Paul Church for Barbara Gail "Bobby" Broussard, 59, who passed away July 9, 2013 at her residence. Father Mario Romero, associate pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, will officiate the mass and conduct funeral services. Organist will be Phyllis Simar and soloist will be Charlotte Jagneaux. Interment will follow the mass in Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Jason Paul Broussard of Scott; two sisters, Denise Broussard , Roxanne Broussard, both of Scott; three brothers,  Richard Dale Broussard of Scott, Ronnie Charles Broussard and his wife Mary of Scott, Michael Jude Broussard of Lafayette; one niece, Hailey Paige Matthews of Scott; two nephews, Scott Christopher Broussard of Lafayette and Trevor John McBride of Scott, and one great-nephew, Scott Christopher Broussard, II.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Ruth Aimee Comb and Wilton John Broussard; great-aunt, Mary Bourgeois; aunt, Mary Ann Newman; and cousin, Mary "Sue" Dalfrey.

Barbara was a native of Lafayette and resident of Scott for most of her life. She was employed at Bruce's Alignment Service for a number of years before her recent retirement. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Scott.

Pallbearers will be Richard Broussard, Ronnie Broussard, Paul Champagne, Kobi Hernandez, Robby Guilbeau and Michael Broussard. Jason Broussard will be an honorary pallbearer.

The family requests that visitation be held Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 2:00 - 9:00 pm, and resume on Friday morning at 9:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at  Walters Funeral Home on Wednesday evening at 6:30. Following the rosary, Pastor Dougie Perroncel with Right Roads Christian Church will share memories about Barbara.
