Beverly Constantine Fuselier

May 19, 1956 — March 24, 2026

Lafayette

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 27, 2026 at 3:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton for Beverly Constantine Fuselier, 69, who passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026 at her home in Lafayette, Louisiana after a three year battle with cancer. Reverend William Schambough, pastor of St. Joseph, will be the celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Con-celebrating the Mass will be Monsignor Keith DeRouen, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Opelousas. Gregg Martinez and Karen Broussard will provide musical selections. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Bev fought with determination and grace, bolstered by an unshakable faith in God’s love for her. She never wavered or complained, and never let her disease take away her spirit or rob the world of her smile. A devout follower of Charlene Richard, Beverly prayed to the Little Cajun Saint daily on a relic gifted to her by a Vatican Cardinal, and hoped to one day soon meet Charlene in Heaven.

Beverly was born May 19th, 1956, to Gladston and Frances Constantine in Lafayette, Louisiana, the middle of three children. She graduated from Teurlings Catholic High School in 1974 and attended the College of Business at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana Lafayette. At the start of her career, she worked as an administrative assistant in the oil and gas industry. With her husband, Kenneth, she helped to build a successful construction business in Master Builders & Specialists while raising two children. She was a generous volunteer and substitute teacher at St. Genevieve School, Teurlings Catholic High School, and St. Thomas More High School while her children attended. She served on the board of the Lafayette Ladies Tennis League as a club representative and team captain for fifteen years. As her children grew, she supported her dear friend by becoming an engraver at The Silver Suitcase. She later became a Master Gardener and volunteered often at the Vermilionville healer’s garden. Her love of gardening and her strong faith inspired her to co-author a book, The Healing Traditions of Southern Louisiana, about medicinal plants and traiteurs. After publishing, she passionately advocated for these traditions by giving frequent talks across the state.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth; her two children, Mindi and Adam (Allison); grandchildren, Graham and Kate; her sister, Tina Vidrine (Randy); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ricky.

Visitation will be held from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Friday at Walters Funeral Home, located at 2424 North University Avenue in Lafayette. A recitation of the rosary will be at 1:00pm.
