A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jules Catholic Church for Clydie A. Porche, 90, who passed away April 19, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Father Dan Edwards, Pastor of St. Jules, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Geralyn Farrell, Secious Ann Porche, and Charlene Bernal; gift bearers will be Lauren Jones, Erica Barrington, and Mona Antoine. Musicians will be Angie and Bryan Sanford. Interment will follow the mass in St. John Cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Myrtle (Elrick) LeCompte of Lafayette, Germaine Cookie (Jed) Niederer of Houston, Corine Porche of Lafayette, Geralyn Gerry (Danny) Farrell of Lafayette, and Charlene (Chris) Bernal of Houston; three sons, Charles (Anita) Porche of Mandeville, Eris A. (Secious Ann) Porche of Lafayette, and Leonard (Jennifer) Porche of Scott; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Porche, Sr.; her parents, Corine and Henri Ducros; son, Larry Porche; great-grandson, Seth Mangrum; two sisters, Myrtle Ruffo and Doris Fernandez; and two brothers, Paul and Otis Ducros.
Pallbearers will be Charles Porche, III, Kevin LeCompte, Larry Porche II, David LeCompte, Corey Porche, Ryan LeCompte, Adam Porche, Leonard Porche Jr., and Stefan Porche.
The family requests that visitation be held Wednesday evening at Walters Funeral Home from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., with a rosary led by Father Edwards at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. in St. Jules Church until the time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made in Clydie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
