Constance "Connie" Pomier
October 1, 1959 — August 14, 2016
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Constance “Connie” Marie Pomier, who passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016. The Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will officiate the ceremony and conduct graveside services. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral mass at Calvary Cemetery.
She was survived by one daughter, Gini Quiroz and her husband Adam of Round Rock, TX; three sons, Shane Pomier of Lafayette, Michael Turki of Lafayette, and Atikus Turki of Round Rock, TX; four sisters, Cynthia Ogle of Lafayette, Linda Olivier of Lafayette, Cheryl Robicheaux and her husband Duffy of Breaux Bridge, and Tracie Hunter and her husband Clay of Picayune, MS; one brother, John “Tony” Pomier of Metairie; and five grandchildren, Brennan Turki, Gabrielle Pomier, Mykkean Turki, Kaylah Quiroz, Niyah Quiroz, and one grandson on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and John Pomier; and one brother, Michael Pomier.
Connie lived life to the fullest and enjoyed each and every day. She had a passion and a gift for helping others and loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and making family her number one priority. Called affectionately by her many niece and nephews “ta-tante,” she could be counted on to bring the fun and energy to any situation. Connie had the most infectious laugh and personality that could, and often did, fill an entire room. She had an incredible devotion to her numerous friends and neighbors. It would not be an exaggeration to say she has never met a stranger. Steadfast in her faith, she did not fear the inevitable day that she would be blessed to meet her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She believed her very best days were always in front of her. Proverbs 31: 25-31
The family requests visitation hours be observed on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Shane Pomier, Adam Quiroz, Atikus Turki, Brennan Turki, Mike Turki, and Mykkean Turki. Honorary pallbearers are Clay Hunter, Gabrielle Pomier, John Pomier, Ross Pomier, Duffy Robicheaux, and Darren Schexnayder.
