A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Bethany MHS for Deanna Fouin, who passed away on December 19, 2018. Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will celebrate the mass.Visiting hours will be observed Friday morning from 10:00 am until service time.
Deanna Fouin was a native of New Orleans who moved to Lafayette with her family at the age of six. She attended Hamilton Training School, Lafayette High School, and Southwestern Louisiana Institute, later entering the Most Holy Sacrament Convent. She remained for 34 years, and served for eight of those years as Mother General. She received her Master's of Education in English and Counseling from USL, and another Master's in Counseling from Duquene University in Pittsburgh, Penn. She also served as the president of Panhellenic at USL.
During her lengthy career, Deanna was always called to help others and did so for her entire life. She was the principal of Our Lady of Fatima for ten years, and worked for Management Development Institute as a consultant to priests, brothers, and sisters throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. She studied Carl G. Jung psychology for 54 years, and practiced psychotherapy for 35 years.
The family extends its special thanks to Bethany for taking such good care of Deanna.
