Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Direanda Lormand, 72, who passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Visitation hours will be observed on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m.
Direanda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roland John Lormand of Lafayette; one daughter, Nicole Lane of Houston, TX; one step-daughter, Karen Hart and her husband William of Nicholson, GA; one step-son, Randy Lormand and his wife Sherry of Sunset; one half-brother, James Lillard Sotomayer; nine grandchildren, Cierra Lane, Jailyn Lane, Evian Lane, Jordan Lane, Jase Lane, Christopher Hart, Sarah Hart, Ryan Lormand, and Jeremy Lormand; and five great-grandchildren, Emma Hart, Noah Hart, William Hart, Jameson Hart, and Rhett Lormand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie and James “Jim” Lillard; one sister, Sandra Layne; and three brothers, Richard Lillard, Ronald Lillard, and Ronnie Lillard.
Direanda was involved in LBCC Bowling, and was a member of the Ladies Major Bowling League. She was also a member, and served a term as President, of the St. Leo Catholic School PTC. She recently retired from a lifelong career in accounting, and in her free time she could be found bowling, reading, playing cards, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Lane, Jase Lane, Randy Lormand, Ryan Lormand, Kenneth Duplechin, and Lester Colbert.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Hospice of Acadiana, and Debbie Duplechin.
