A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Donald Ray Bearb, 81, who passed away June 2, 2021. Father Brian Taylor, pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow the service Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his son, Blaine Bearb and his wife Stacey; three step-sons, Jarvis James Hebert and his wife Paulette, Caroll Hebert and his wife Mariane, and Darren Hebert, all of Lafayette; three brothers, Bobby (Sandy) Bearb of Beaumont, Jimmy Bearb (Frances) of Carencro, and Billy (Cindy) Bearb of Carencro; seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve "Jan" Stelly Bearb; parents, the former Alice Stutes and Caliste Bearb; and siblings Una Sanz and Tracy Bearb.
Donald was a born and reared in Lafayette. He worked as a professional photographer, and owned Don and Jan Studio in Opelousas. He was a member of the Professional Photographer Association and the Acadiana Professional Photographers Guild.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bearb, Billy Bearb, Jim Bearb, Timothy Hebert, Trey Andries, Scotty Bearb.
The family requests that visitation be held Sunday from 3:00 - 8:00 pm; and resume Monday morning at 10:00 am until services at 2:00 pm. A rosary will be led by Sr. Doris Roy on Sunday evening at 6:00 pm.
