Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Eileen E. Bixler, who entered eternal rest at her residence on June 16, 2015. She was 91 years old. Father Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will perform "Amazing Grace", "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", and "How Great Thou Art." Lectors will be Eileen's two grandsons, Jacob and Chase Doerle. Interment will follow the service in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Bixler (John W.) Raibikis and Mindy Bixler (Paul Jr.) Doerle; two grandsons, Jacob Bixler (Kecia) Doerle and Chase Allen (Lacy) Doerle; and one great-grandson, Jackson Bixler Doerle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bixler; parents, Keith and Eva Ehresman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eileen was a native of Hardin County, Ohio and was a graduate of Ridgeway High School. She was a resident of Lafayette for more than 50 years. She married her loving husband James (Jim) Bixler on June 2, 1946, and together they raised two daughters.
She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, watching sports on TV, and traveling. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Bixler Doerle, Chase Allen Doerle, Paul Allen Doerle, Patrick E. Johnson, John Frank, and John W. Raibikis.
The family requests that visitation be held Friday morning from 9:00 am until time of service.
