Glenn Jude Webb

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Glenn Jude Webb, 79, who passed away peacefully at his home in Lafayette on September 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Father Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services, along with Deacon Glynn Stutes of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath. Lectors will be Peggy Stutes and Margaret Hargroder. Bearing the gifts will be Madison and André Renard. Karen Broussard, organist, will perform Amazing Grace, Ave Maria, I am the Bread of Life, and How Great Thou Art. Interment at Calvary Cemetery will follow the service.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Madeline Stutes Webb of Lafayette; his daughter, Shannon Webb Biggs of Lafayette; grandchildren, Ethan Biggs and Madison Biggs Renard (André); and godchildren, Mandie Stutes Leckelt and Kynsi Sonnier Hebert.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ian E. Biggs; his parents, Emily “Mim” Landry and Lannie Webb; and his in-laws, Aline Domingue and Martin Stutes.

Glenn was born in Lafayette on March 15, 1947. As a young boy, he served as an altar server at St. Genevieve Church. He was a proud 1965 Teurlings Rebel graduate and football letterman, wearing number 42. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana before enlisting in the U.S. Army National Guard.

In 1968, Glenn married the love of his life, Madeline Stutes of Scott. His outgoing personality and natural business sense served him well in several sales positions early in his career before he opened his own business, Cajun Custom Cabinets, in the late 1970s.

Glenn later changed career paths and became a Lafayette Parish school bus driver, a position he held from 1990 to 2018. His leadership abilities, dedication, and genuine care for others led him to serve as President of the Lafayette Parish School Bus Association for several terms. Former students and parents continued to express their gratitude for his compassion, kindness, and dedication long after they had left his bus and into his retirement years.

Glenn enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He and Madeline shared a love of camping and traveled as much as they could throughout their life together. When they weren’t on the road, they could often be found in the Atchafalaya Basin aboard their beloved houseboat, The Cajun Queen, where everyone was welcome and a good time was always had.

Glenn’s love of the outdoors naturally led to a passion for hunting. He was a member of several hunting clubs, including Acadiana, Catahoula, and, most recently, The Rebel Hunting Club, which he proudly named.

Glenn—known affectionately as Dad, Webb, Uncle, Big Glenn, Paw, Parrain, and Uncle Webb—was known for his infectious, fun-loving personality. He loved bringing friends and family together and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Whether he was hosting barbecues and pool parties at home, celebrating the Fourth of July aboard The Cajun Queen,

camping out at Cajun Field while waiting for the Mardi Gras parades to roll by, or gathering with his weekly Coffee Club, Glenn was always ready for a good time.

At home, you could often find him listening to his favorite radio station, KBON (101.1), while floating in his pool with a cold one in his hand. “Piece of cake” was his favorite phrase, often offered as encouragement to others—a simple expression that captured his easygoing nature and positive outlook on life.

Glenn was a wonderful, loving, and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, godfather, and friend. His sense of humor, quick wit, and little antics brought smiles and laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His perseverance, positive attitude, patience, and unwavering faith in God guided him throughout his life.

Above all, Glenn leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and friendship. He made a lasting and beautiful imprint on the hearts of all those who knew and loved him, especially his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched will remain forever.

Pallbearers for the service will be Ricky Landry, André Renard, Dylan Delahoussaye, Will Guidry, Kyle Sonnier, Gerald Sonnier, Harold Lee Stutes, and Larry Poirier. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Biggs, Glynn Stutes, Johnny Olivier, and Harold Delahoussaye.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be led by Glynn Stutes and Harold Lee Stutes, brothers-in-law, on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to his very loving and compassionate caregivers Julia Ned, Denise Wright, Secreeta Huel, Vanessa Batiste, Ammie Dixon, Jayshyrie Batiste, and Lynn Ozean; Acadian Home Care; Rise Physical Therapy; and Hospice of Acadiana for the care, compassion, and love they provided to Glenn and his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenn’s name to Hospice of Acadiana, Acadiana Veterans Honor Guard, or St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
