A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Glory Vellion, 83, who passed away June 28, 2016. Father Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Christy Trujillo and Amanda Landry; gift bearers, Leola Guillory and Joan Andrepont. Glory's son Scott will give the eulogy, and Jodi Bollich will be the organist and soloist for the funeral mass.
Survivors include her four children, Cynthia Matt and her husband Michael of Lafayette, Jennifer Jolly and her husband Thomas of Lafayette, Kim Vellion and his partner Marty Thibodeaux of Lafayette, and Scott Vellion and his partner Toby Bouillion of Dallas; two sisters, Leola Guillory of Lake Charles and Joan Andrepoint and her husband Russell of Lumberton, Tex.; five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenius Vellion, her parents Lillian and Elton Ardoin; two brothers and one sister.
The family requests that visitation be held Thursday morning from 8:00 am until time of mass. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Hospice/ The Carpenter House, 923 Pinhook Rd., Lafayette, La. 70503.
