James Mickey Olivier

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for James Mickey Olivier, 81, who passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Pastor Nick Watts of First Baptist Church will officiate the funeral ceremony. Interment will take place immediately following the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation hours will be observed at Walters Funeral Home on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

James is survived by his wife, Katherine Miller Olivier of Lafayette; one daughter, Tanna Tan and her husband Alex of Lafayette; one son, Ramsey Olivier and his wife Amanda of St. Martinville; one step-son, Heath Manuel and his wife Iliana of Houston, TX; two sisters, Catherine Hawkins and her husband David of Los Angeles, CA, and Ceclia Laverne and her husband Raymond of Church Point, LA; and three grandchildren, Austin Manuel, Zachary Manuel, and Emma Manuel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Alfred Olivier; four sisters, Ursla Howard, Marlane Matte, Josey Duhon, and Anette Gallagher; and one brother, Russel Paul Olivier.

James was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, and was the Owner/ Operator of Catfish Heaven Camp Grounds.

Pallbearers will be Austin Manuel, Zach Manuel, Terry Olivier, Tommy Miller, Jordan Miller, and Billy Benezech.
