Janice Marquet Lock, 76, died in her home on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Per her wishes her body was cremated.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 57 years, Joseph Lock; her daughter, Karen D. Lock of Alameda, CA; her sister- and brother-in-law Joanne and Hal Conroy of NC; and her many friends in Lafayette, Carencro, and New Orleans.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcee Marquet and Lillian Alma Teke Marquet.
Janice was a native of New Orleans and resident of Carencro for the past 24 years. She graduated from John McDonogh Senior High School in New Orleans and was a totally dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother. Her joys included gourmet cooking, going to great restaurants with her friends and family, and attending the special ladies lunches. She also loved domestic and international travel. She will be best remembered for her beauty, kindness, personality, and willingness to help others in need.
Special thanks are given to her friend and caregiver Betty Clay who helped her through difficult times, and many other friends, neighbors and family members.
The family requests that informal visiting hours be held Friday, July 15, 2016 from 7-9 pm at Walters Funeral Home.
