Jeanette "Kathie" Ball

Memorial services will be held Friday, April 9, 2021, 2:00 pm, at the Covenant United Methodist Church for Jeanette Kathleen Ball, 78, who passed away March 28, 2021. Rev. Jon Tellifero will conduct the service. Visitation will take place Friday afternoon between 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the church, and a reception will follow the services in the church hall. Per Covid-19 restrictions at the church, masks will be mandatory.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Ball of Lafayette; two daughters, Kelly B. Thomas and her husband Bushrod, and Kerrie Hornsby and her husband Aaron; one step-daughter, Amy Humphrey and her husband Richard; four step-grandchildren, Jacob Hornsby, Nicholas Hornsby, Austin Parker, and Izabella Gomez, her husband Michael, and their son Holden; one sister, Jackie Sorenson and her husband Bob; one aunt, Susan Day McGarvey; numerous cousins; and her beloved pets, Blossom, Lovey, April, and Sally.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rita D. and John F. Senglaub; and one sister, Joanne Senglaub.
Kathie was born in Syracuse, NY and has lived in Lafayette for the past 43 years. She was very active in the Lafayette community, volunteering her time and service to Acadiana Animal Aid and the Acadiana Humane Society; and at her church, Covenant United Methodist Church. There she was active in the Choir, the Mats Program, the annual Pumpkin Patch, and the Covenant Love Basket Ministries.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing pokeno with her friends in the Pokeno Posse and being a member of the Ladybugs Homemakers Club, MS and You, the MS support group of Lafayette, and the New Acadians. She was a gifted crafter, specializing in jewelry and wreaths. She will be dearly missed for her creativity, volunteerism, and kind soul.
