Jeradine "Jerrie" Trahan Chiasson

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Jeradine “Jerrie” Trahan Chiasson, 74, who passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023.   Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the ceremony.  A gathering celebrating Jerrie’s life will take place at a later date.

Visitation hours will be observed at Walters Funeral Home on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  A rosary will be prayed on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., led by Deacon Cody Miller.

Jerrie is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Ashton Chiasson;  one daughter, Renee Bellow;  one son, Jerome Bellow;  one step-daughter, Connie Chiasson-Fugate (Chris);  one step-son, Chad Chiasson;  two brothers, Gerald Trahan (Carol Ann), and Robert Trahan;  five grandchildren, Chase Chiasson, Alexis Bellow, Parker Chiasson, Irie Bellow, and Aria Bellow;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Mable Trahan;  one brother, Harry Trahan;  and one nephew, David Trahan.

Jerrie was considered to be a very selfless person who everyone loved to be around. She was a woman of many traits. She was a full-time mother and grandmother, heavily involved in the Cub Scouts when her children were little. Jerrie was also a businesswomen, and spent a number of years in the insurance business, earning numerous top sales awards. She would have given the shirt off of her back to anyone in need while also making sure their stomachs were full. Her smile and laugh were extremely contagious. You always knew she was in the room by the elegant perfume smell and the sounds of constant laughter. Jerry was known to be a very meticulous person with everything she did in her life and also her loved ones lives.  In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and being around her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
