Juanita Burleigh

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Juanita Burleigh, 94, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2018.  Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the ceremony.  Inurnment will take place immediately following the service at Lafayette Memorial Park.

Visitation hours will be observed on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Juanita is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Walker and her husband Michael,  Melanie Carroll and her husband John,  and Mary K. Mouton and her husband Keith;  one son, Edward Burleigh, Jr.;  one sister, Mitzi Gordon;  nine grandchildren;  and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernadine and Joseph Nugent;  one brother;  and six sisters.

Juanita was a beloved mother and nurturer of her grandchildren and her plants.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her beloved caregiver, Alma James.
