Judith "Judy" LeBlanc

August 22, 1947 — January 8, 2014

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm  in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Judith Lynn LeBlanc, 66, who passed away January 8, 2014 at her residence. Reverend Tom Voorhies, pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Scott will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Richard Martin LeBlanc of Lafayette; one daughter, Leah Domangue and her husband Brandon of Tomball, TX; four sons, Lonny LeBlanc and his wife Leslie of Scott, Greg LeBlanc and his wife Jeantelle of Lafayette, Tim LeBlanc and his life partner Chase Debord of Tomball, TX, and Jacob LeBlanc and his wife Amber of Lafayette; one brother, Ralph Mier, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Lafayette; and ten grandchildren, Brook, Laynie, Samantha, Noah, Matthew, Greyson, Sydney, Ainsley, Dayton and Cullen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Anna Lee Sommers and Ralph Mier, Sr.
A lifetime resident of Lafayette, Judy served as the choir director at many Catholic churches in the Lafayette area. Throughout her career, she performed at hundreds of weddings, funerals and baptisms. She was a member of  Chorale Acadienne, the singing group "Sound Waves", and was the singer in the band "We the People."
Over the years Judy cared for 14 foster babies and was a substitute teacher at Acadiana High School. She loved to dance, shop, and travel, and was an avid golfer and Ragin' Cajun supporter.
Pallbearers for the service will be Steve Landry, Carl Hamilton, Brook LeBlanc, Wynn Carbo, Brandon Domangue, Chase Debord, Kerry Carbo, Glenn Carbo, and Kirk Carbo.
The family requests that visitation be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 1:00-9:00 pm, and resume Friday morning from 11:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 7:00 pm.
