Lafayette native Anthony "Keith" Melancon passed away February 17, 2016 at his residence in Lafayette. He was 56 years old.
Survivors include his only son, Chase (Alyssa) Melancon of New Iberia; three daughters, Candace M. (Jeff) Guidry of Cankton, Christina Melancon (Russell) Ryan of Abbeville, and Catherine Melancon of Lafayette; one sister, Pam Melancon of Lafayette; two brothers, Cecil (Vanessa) Melancon, Sr. of Lafayette and Joey Melancon of Port Barre; the mother of his daughters, Isabel Braquet; and ten grandchildren, Michael and Emily Eadie, Sophie Guidry and Jacob Guidry, William, Jack, and Alexander Ryan, Avery Melancon, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clesme and Helen Melancon; and one sister, Sheila Melancon Comeaux.
Keith will be remembered by his love for classic rock music, and his love for his grandchildren. He attended Northside High School and worked at the original Pizza Village on Moss Street, where he swore by their brick ovens.. Throughout his life you could find him there eating his favorite pizza, the Landry Special. He was an avid "World of Warcraft" online gamer and enjoyed watching the TV show "Cops".
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
