Survivors include husband of 42 years, Smead Sargent of Lafayette; two daughters, Tiffany Sargent and Britany Sargent of Lafayette; her mother, Mae Helen Hall of Fordyce, Ark.; two sisters, Catherine Caldwell and her husband Billy of Fordyce, Ark. and Sherry Hall of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Christopher Hall of Dallas, Tex.; three grandchildren, Jamal Alexander, Jayda Alexander, and Javien Brown; and her half-siblings, John Kelly Moore, Sr. and his wife Linda, Mary Parham, Sammy Moore, Eugene Moore, and Diane Lawrence and her husband Jessie, all of Little Rock, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert "Pot" Hall.
Linda was born in Fordyce, Ark. She graduated from Thornton High School and Southern Arkansas University with her Associate's Degree in Food Management. It was there she met her future husband, Smead, whom she married in May 28, 1978. Shortly thereafter the newlywed couple moved to Lafayette, La. for job opportunities in the oil field.
Linda worked for the Lafayette Parish School Board in Cafeteria Management for a short while, but truly shined as a family woman. She loved family get-togethers and spending time with friends, cooking and visiting. Everyone in the neighborhood knew her for her fried chicken and fried fish, and would be sure to stop by for a plate. She was a kind soul that never forgot a name or a face, and could easily sympathize with others. She will be missed by her family and friends deeply.
Pallbearers for the service will be Tommy Campbell, Troy O'Guinn, Michael LeBlanc, Torian Sam, Kenneth Wade, and Don Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers include Jamal Alexander, Javien Brown, Lance Arceneaux, Brandon Creer, Donovan Hall and David Roberts.
