Marilyn Schwartz

Marilyn  "Joyce" Schwartz went home to the Lord on November 23, 2023.
 
She was born on August 14, 1932 in Arlington Heights, IL. She graduated from Palatine Township High School and went on to graduate from Felt and Terrant in Chicago, IL. She married the love of her life, George  E. Schwartz on August 8, 1953. They were married 67 years until he passed away in May, 2020.
 
She and George lived in Arlington Heights until they moved to Lafayette, LA in 1971. She was the secretary/treasurer for McDonald's Corp and Mac-Mite Inc, both of which were owned by her husband. Later in her careeer she became the Department Manager for Wal-Mart, a position she held for 15 years.
 
Marilyn and was a Lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 7 years and Judge of Elections for 7 years. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life and she cherished time spent with them.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence Brinkman and Helen Larson Brinkman; husband, George E. Schwartz; daughter, Barbara "Bobbi" S. Rills; and great-grandson, Caiden M. Burke.
 
She is survived by daughter, Debra "Debbie" S. Domingue of Lafayette; Son, John E. Schwartz and wife Laurie of Centennial, Colorado; daughter, Julie S. Cloteaux and husband James of Youngsville; three granddaughters; Jessica D. Venable of Lafayette, Christine H. Rills of New Orleans, and Crystal C. Burke of Youngsville; two grandsons, Thomas J. Cloteaux and Jordan K. Cloteaux, both of Youngsville; six great-grandchildren, John M. Braun, Jacob F. Venable, Colin L. Rills, Josie R. Venable,  Camryn V. Burke, and Camden M. Burke; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
The family sends special thanks to her friends at Cornerstone Nursing Home.
