Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Minnie Lee Dugas Hebert “MinnieMom”, who passed away peacefully at the age of 88, at her home in Carencro, Louisiana. Interment will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that visitation begin at 8:00 am Saturday morning and continue until time of service. Her grandsons, Tyler Hebert, TJ Hebert, Trent Hebert, Henri Hebert-Allemond, Evan Marsh and Eli Hebert will serve as pallbearers.
Born on February 22,1937 in Henderson, Louisiana, Minnie dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family. Her deep faith was the foundation of her life, and her love—genuine and unconditional—was felt by everyone who knew her.
Minnie was one of eight children and was raised in Henderson, Louisiana. She graduated from Cecilia High School, where she played basketball and became majorette of the marching band.
It was Christmas night 1953 when she met the love of her life, Henry Hebert Sr. at a dance hall in Henderson. They married on August 21, 1955, and spent their early years following drilling rigs around South Louisiana during Henry’s early oilfield career. Minnie joyfully became a mother of eight children and her kitchen soon became a place where many came to share her homemade biscuits, cornbread, cabbage rolls, rice and gravy and much more.
Minnie and Henry were married for 65 years before his passing in 2021. She carried on as the family’s anchor—faithful, funny, sharp as ever, and steadfast in her Christian devotion.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hebert Sr.; her son, Timothy Hebert; her two granddaughters, Magen Marie Hebert and Elliana Marie Hebert; her son-in-law Preston Hunt (Louri); her parents, Louis Conly Dugas and Celanie Patin; and all her beloved siblings.
She is survived by her children, Robyn Hebert Stuart (Bo), Henry “Hank” Hebert Jr. (Jodie), Thomas Hebert (Jessica), Lourianne “Louri” Hunt, John Hebert (Renee), Ted Hebert (Jenny), and Angeline “Angel” Hebert Marsh (Chris); daughter-in-law, Rachelle Hebert; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the following: Hospice of Acadiana, Liberty Baptist Church, Acadian Ambulance, Our Lady of Lourdes JD Moncus Cancer Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and NSI (Nursing Specialties) Home Health.
