Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Christ Gospel Church for Nancy D. Bernard, 66, who passed away January 8, 2017 at her residence. Reverend Ralph Manecke will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Shane Bernard of Broussard; two daughters, Kam Bernard of Broussard and Anna (Josh) Getro of Broussard; one son, Shawn (Jessica) Bernard of Lafayette; three sisters, Linda Stephens of Morgan City, Cheryl (Glenn) Pennison of Morgan City, and Karen (Rick) Van Suffelen of Carencro; and four grandchildren, Aiden Bernard, Channing Bernard, Tanner Bernard, and Gabrielle Getro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Herman Domangue; and one brother, Michael Domangue.
Nancy was a native of Aransas Pass, longtime resident of Morgan City, and resident of Broussard for the past ten years. She was an active member of Christ Gospel Church, serving on their Board.
Pallbearers will be Joey Domangue, David Domangue, Bubba Stephens, Chad Stephens, Jeff Pennison, and Justin Murphey. Timmy Stephens is named as an honorary pallbearer.
The family requests that visitation be held at Christ Gospel Church, 2400 N. University Ave., on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at 9:00 am until time of service.
