Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Patricia T. Mays, 63, who peacefully passed away January 31, 2016 surrounded by family. Minister Frank Carmical of Lafayette Bible Chapel will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow the services in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Patricia is survived by her husband Everette Mays of Lafayette; one daughter, Josie Weatherford and her husband Josh of Kilgore, Tex.; three sons, Jason and his wife Amy of Grand Junction, Co., Jonathan Mays of Lafayette, and Jules and his wife Jennifer of Corpus Christi, Tex.; one sister, Mandy Toal and her husband Herb of Abbeville; two brothers, Creighton Trahan and his wife Dru of Tampa, Fla., and Allen Trahan and his wife Kathy of Lafayette; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Valerie Trahan.
Patricia loved the Lord. She was involved with Bible Study Fellowship and the Lafayette Bible Chapel Children's Church, where she made many dear and loyal friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jason Mays, Jonathan Mays, Jules Mays, Josh Weatherford and Herbie Toal. Honorary Pallbearers are Herbert Toal, Creighton Trahan and Allen Trahan.
Visitation will be held at Walters Funeral Home from 2:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, and resume on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until time of services.
The family sends it sincere thanks to St. Joseph's Hospice, the staff of Lafayette General Hospice, Dr. Tyler Bellelo and Staff, Dr. Salman Malad and Staff at the Cancer Center of Acadiana, and the Miles Perret Center.
