Percy "Wayne" Ortego, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Percy “Wayne” Ortego, Jr., 71, who passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate the services.

Visitation hours will be observed at Walters Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.

Percy is survived by his mother, Alice E. Ortego of Carencro; one sister, Audrey Ann Vannoy of St. Francisville; two brothers, Jimmie Ortego and his wife Marguerite of Lafayette, and Billy Ray Ortego and his wife Ann of Opelousas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kristi Ortego; his son, Jason Ortego; his father, Percy Ortego; and one brother, Kenneth Joseph Ortego.

Percy is a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He is a decorated Veteran, having received the Bronze Star medal and numerous commendation medals.
