Petesy Hernandez

LAFAYETTE - A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church for Petesy Mouton Hernandez, 83, who died Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. at her residence.  Father Michael Russo will officiate.  Musical selections will be rendered by organist Keith D'Anna.  Private inurnment services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Hernandez, a native of  Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Alexandre Bruce Mouton and Lucille Wilkins Mouton.  She graduated from Grand Coteau Academy and what is now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Survivors include two children, her son Edward E. (Ted) Hernandez, Jr. and his wife Joanie Suter Hernandez, and her daughter, Joann (Tuttie) H. Walker; a sister, Lynn Mouton Spence and her husband Fred; a brother, A. Bruce (Joey) Mouton, Jr. and his wife Carla; and four grandchildren Ashley E. Walker, Craig M. Walker, Jr., Edward E. (Trey) Hernandez, III, and Amanda Shadegg.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her children would like to thank Rosa, Jimmy, and Hannah for the loving care they showed their mother.  Charitable donations may be made to the Carmelite Monastery in Lafayette.
