A private Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Walters Funeral Home for Philip Adam Boudreaux III. Philip passed away June 16, 2026 at the age of 83. Inurnment will follow with military honors in Gallant Fields, the exclusive veterans section of Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his three daughters, Evangeline Blanchard and her husband Joel of Breaux Bridge, LA; Chantelle Boudreaux and her husband Jonathan of Boston, MA; and Elizabeth Suzanne Hebert and her husband Brian of Lafayette, LA; three brothers, Michael Boudreaux, Gregory Boudreaux, and Paul Boudreaux; and six grandchildren, Anjolie, Thomas, Drew, Joel Oliver, Maggie, and Evangeline.
He was preceded in death by his parents Juanita and Philip Boudreaux, Jr.; and his aunt whom he was very close to, Evangeline Gomez.
Philip was a native of New Orleans and resident of Lafayette for the past 50 years. He was a proud and devoted member of the United States Marine Corps and served as Commandant of the local Marine Corps detachment. He was a professor in the Department of Business Systems and Technology at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, teaching statistics to thousands of students over a career spanning 30 years. He looked forward to Festivale Internationale de Louisiane every year, serving on the Board of Directors and volunteering most years. He was also a huge lover of food (especially Chinese buffets), bluegrass music, fine writing instruments, and LSU football. Had his service been on a Saturday in the fall, it would have had to be the BYE. He will be remembered as a humorous man with great love for his children, grandchildren, and animals alike.
Honorary pallbearers are Drew Hebert, Thomas Trahan, Jonathan Gips, Brian Hebert, and Joel Blanchard.
