A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Milton for Randolph "Randy" Citron Sr., 74, who passed away June 23, 2025 at his residence. Father William Schambough, pastor of St. Joseph, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conduct the funeral services. Lectors for the Mass will be Todd and Morgan Citron. A eulogy will be given by his children, Matt, Jon and Hollie Citron. Inurnment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to Mass on Monday morning at St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include his three children, Hollie Citron, Matt Citron and his wife Alisha, and Jon Citron and his wife Kara; his companion of 23 years, Donna Kimball, and her children Kelly Vidrine and Ellis Cook; five brothers, David "Rusty" Citron III (Sara), Mike Citron, Scott Citron (Maryellen), Andy Citron, and Todd Citron (Jill); nine grandchildren, Alexah Stutes, Luke Copenhaver, Morgan Citron, Mason Citron, Bennett Citron, Mikie Moncla, Davis Citron, Madeline Pitre, and Ellison Vidrine; and the mother of his children, Joy Coleman Citron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the former Marcelle Fortier and David Elroy Citron, Jr.; and one sister, Renee' Marcelle Citron.
Randy was a Lafayette native. He graduated in 1969 from Cathedral Carmel High School, where he starred on the basketball team and was the organ player in the local band “One Way Trip”. He earned his Master's Degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now ULL) in Electrical Engineering, and had a 30 year career in the oil and gas industry as a Senior Electrical Engineer. He was also a United States Naval Reservist and a pious Roman Catholic, praying the rosary daily. He looked forward to attending weekly Mass at St. Joseph Church.
He was an avid LSU Tiger fan & loved watching LSU sports. His entire life he enjoyed horse racing, a passion shared by his family as well.
In his retirement, Randy spent most of his time rescuing animals. He cared deeply for his many cats and their kittens. His family and friends will miss his kindness and generous spirit.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Pat Breaux, Francis Boustany, Louis German, Steve Angers, Rubin Blanca, and Jerry Guillot.
