A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Scott for Renell Begnaud Welborn, who passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2014. Father David Hebert of St. Augustine Church in Basile, LA will conduct the memorial service.
She is survived by her two brothers, Pat Begnaud and his wife Gerry of Big Lake, AK, and Rene Begnaud of Biloxi, MS; her sister Linda Begnaud Townsend and her husband Mike of Houston, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lovie Begnaud of Big Lake, AK.
Renell was a lifelong resident of Lafayette and graduated from Northside High School in 1970. She enjoyed music and cooking among her other hobbies. Her passion was floral gardening; she enjoyed helping friends and family with their landscaping.
The family wishes to thank her friends and caregivers who provided much love and support during her six year battle with C.O.P.D. Special thanks goes out to her home health nurses, the outstanding staff on the fourth floor and sixth floor of University Hospital, and Hospice of Acadiana.
