Ronnie is survived by his wife, Eva “Lulu” Veron of Magnolia, TX; one daughter, Jennifer Ragin and her husband Brandon of Magnolia, TX; two sons, Seth Veron and his wife Shelly of New Caney, TX, and Sam Veron and his wife Terri of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Brenda Shalonis and her husband David of Lafayette, and Kathy Ryckman and her husband Ralph of Clemmons, NC; two brothers, Kenneth “Poncho” Veron and his wife Mary of Lafayette, and Ricky Veron of Lafayette; and seven grandchildren, Helen Ragin, Alexander Ragin, Andrew Ragin, Ethan Ragin, Emerich Veron, Gabby Veron, and Mikenzie Veron.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dyer and Wilma Veron; and one sister-in-law, Cathy Veron.

Ronnie was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and moved to Lafayette as a young child. It was there that his father owned Veron’s Meat Market and Ronnie worked with his dad while growing up. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1968. Afterwards he joined the United States Navy and worked on the flight deck of the USS Forrestal as a medic. Upon his return, he attended USL and worked at Lafayette General Hospital. It was at that time that he met the love of his life Eva (Lulu) Veron. They were married in 1977. He worked at Seacorp Industries until 1981, then joined his brother Ricky to work at the family’s grocery business after the passing of their father.

In 1990 Ronnie moved his family to Kingwood, Texas where he opened Veron’s Meat Market. He and his family ran the business for 30 years until he retired.

In his younger years Ronnie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending his time with his wife and children, and later his grandchildren, whom they lovingly called Pappy. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be dearly missed by all.

Pallbearers are Seth Veron, Sam Veron, Alexander Ragin, Jacob Anderson, Ralph Ryckman, and Brandon Ragin.
