A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Rosa “Tout” Dugas Thibodeaux, 89, who passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Father Michael DeBlanc, Associate Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will officiate the funeral ceremony. Interment will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott.
She is survived by three sisters, Irene Leger of Lafayette, Marion Naquin of Breaux Bridge, and Thelma Hebert of Scott; one brother, Albert Dugas and his wife Joanne of Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis “Joe” Weston Thibodeaux; her parents, Yola and Leonard Dugas; one sister, Anna Lee Roger; and one brother, John Melvin Dugas.
Rosa was very faithful to her religion, and was a dedicated parishioner at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, crocheting, watching EWTN, and spending time with friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Dean Hebert, Drake Hebert, Gerald Hebert, Jean Naquin, Dale Roger, and Seth Sonnier. Honorary pallbearers are Albert Dugas, Murphy Leger, and E.J. Naquin.
The family requests that visitation hours be observed on Friday, July 3, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and nurses at Courtyard Manor, Evangeline Oaks, and Hospice of Acadiana.
