Ruth Ortego

Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Ortego, of Carencro; one daughter, Kelly Ortego and husband Craig, of Carencro; one son, Chris Ortego and wife Diane, of Lafayette; three sisters, Barbara Johnson and husband John, of Salt Lake City, Utah; Doris Meche and husband Charles, of Carencro; and Peggy Lawrence and husband Mike, of Lafayette; four brothers, Paul Couvillion and wife Rita, of Rayne; John Wayne Couvillion and wife Sherryl, of Lafayette; James _Hump_ Couvillion and wife Marie, of Lafayette; and Rickey Couvillion and wife Janna, of Carencro; five grandchildren, Braxton Ortego, Makenzie Ortego, Dalton Ortego, Cooper Ortego, and Caden Ortego; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mable and Henry Couvillion; and one niece, Kristi Lynn Granger.

In her free time, Ruth enjoyed cooking, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending as much time with her grandchildren, every chance she could get.

Pallbearers will be Blake, Todd, Kevin, and Bryan Couvillion, Braxton Ortego, Craig Ortego, Sheldon Galloway, and Trey Little.
