Carolyn was born in Lafayette, LA in 1958, daughter of Arista and Lorena Simpson-Andrus.  She was baptized, confirmed, received her first communion, and married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  After graduating from Northside High School she attended UL, and was employed in automobile, retail, and cellular sales for over 20 years before retiring to become caregiver to her parents when they were ill.  In the 1980’s she was a local fashion model and had other careers in the oil field and the auto sales industry.

Carolyn was a fun, loving, kind, and caring person who would do anything for anyone.  She was very talented and absolutely a beautiful person.  She knew what to say to cheer you up, and would care for you no matter what.  She loved traveling, shopping, designing flower arrangements for loved ones, working in the yard, gardening (she loved plants and fruit trees), and spending time with her cats, who were like her kids.
