Catherine Hynes

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Catherine Marie Hynes, 64, who passed away March 22, 2021. Father Steve LeBlanc will be the celebrant of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Kim Guidry and Kurt Jagneaux; gift bearers, Kristi and Joey Prevost. Interment will follow mass in Calvary Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Saturday between 8:00 am and time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Hynes of Lafayette and Brook Elizabeth Lemaire of San Diego; her parents, Delsy and John Jagneaux of Lafayette; one sister, Lynn Ann Jagneaux of Duson; two brothers, Paul Faron Jagneaux and David Kurt (Katherine) Jagneaux, both of Lafayette, two grandchildren, Holly Marie Alvarez of San Diego and Kayden Elijah Scott of Lafayette; and one nephew, Sean Alexander Jagneaux.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Ann Ryan.
Catherine was a native of Shreveport that moved to Lafayette in 2009. She loved the joie de vivre found in Acadiana, and volunteered at numerous festivals, including Festival Acadien and Festival International. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Paul Faron Jagneaux, David Kurt Jagneaux, Sean Alexander Jagneaux, Taylor Scott, Greg Benoit, Jimmy Fontenot.
