A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Henry Hebert Sr., 87, who passed away March 11, 2021 at his residence. Father Howard Blessing will be the celebrant of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jennifer and Jodie Hebert will be the lectors. Interment will follow the mass in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Minnie Lee Hebert of Lafayette; five sons, Henry "Hank" (Jodie) Hebert, Jr. of Scott, Tommy (Jessica) Hebert of Scott, Timmy (Rachelle) Hebert of Carencro, John (Renee) Hebert of Houston, and Ted (Jennifer) Hebert of Carencro; three daughters, Robyn (Bo) Stuart of Lafayette, Lourianne Hunt of Raleigh, NC, and Angeline (Chris) Marsh of Broussard; one sister, Pauline Hebert of Carencro; twenty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah and John Hebert; six brothers, six sisters, and two grandchildren.
Henry was a native of Cecilia and resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He was a member of the United States Army and worked for the Superior Oil Company/Mobil for 35 years prior to his retirement.
Pallbearers will be his sixteen grandsons.
The family requests that visitation be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm, and resume Wednesday morning at 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be led by Sr. Doris Roy Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm.
